Job Profile:
The position seeks an applicant with hands-on lab and field cultivation of microalgae to meet the requirements of a collaborative project with New Mexico Consortium, Los Alamos, USA. The candidate will certainly work closely with project members, lab technicians, along with the various other research staff at the TDNBC Unit, Gurugram.
The position will involve
- Cultivation, maintenance and harvesting of microalgae in the raceway ponds.
- Design and execution of algal pest management experiments.
- Media preparation, maintenance of cultures, general laboratory maintenance.
- Downstream processing and purification of the target product.
- Collect data and maintain a record, data analysis and presentation, and submission of reports and manuscripts.
Note: This position will involve in algal field cultivation, for which the applicant is expected to be physically fit and committed. Remunerations will be according to the Organization’s policies and expertise of the candidate. The selected applicant will certainly be appointed purely on a short-term basis, originally for one year that might be extended up to 4 years based upon the funding availability and performance on an annual basis.
Qualifications;
Candidate should have a Masters in any kind of areas of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Environmental Sciences/ Microbiology/ Industrial Biotechnology with an at the very least 55% marks at Master level. Qualified NET or valid GATE score is preferred.
- Need to have the ability to work independently and in teams.
- Need to have great communication skills.
- Willing to work for a minimum of 40 hrs per week. If required need to be able to work on weekends
Skills: This position will certainly involve in algal field cultivation, for which the applicant is expected to be physically fit and committed.
